Who we are

Island Haven Animal Sanctuary was founded in 2015 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  We are run completely by our amazing volunteers - every dollar donated goes directly to the animals.  Our Board of Directors as of April, 2018 consists of: Laura Allen, Julie Duke, Keri Talbott, Granville Paules, Melissa Sehgal and Tim Spaulding.

Our Mission

To provide lifetime care and sheltering for animals who, while still able to lead a quality life, are unable to find homes due to old age, chronic illness, handicaps, temperament issues or other factors, or who have been rescued from neglect and/or abuse situations and require rehabilitation.

OUR PROGRAMS

Rescue, Rehabilitation and Retirement

Island Haven exists for farm animals and equines in need of homes.  We reach out to the community, and work with other local organizations to help those in need.  Once at Island Haven these souls will have all the best possible care and a place to live out the rest of their lives.  We also help people find placement for their animals who are not ready for retirement at the sanctuary, but need a new home for whatever reason.

Outreach and education

We offer private tours for individuals and groups - contact us to arrange yours!  Every day we are doing outreach to help end cruelty and promote compassion.

Advocacy

Because they can't speak for themselves...  We'll be out there raising awareness for animal rights and human responsibilities.

Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.
