What began in the spring of 2015 with adoption of three senior horses and two silly alpacas quickly turned into a full fledged animal sanctuary.

Our Mission

To provide lifetime care and sheltering for farm animals and equines who, while still able to lead a quality life, are unable to find homes due to old age, chronic illness, handicaps, temperament issues or other factors, or who have been rescued from neglect and/or abuse situations and require rehabilitation.

OUR PROGRAMS

Rescue, Rehabilitation and Retirement

Island Haven seeks out animals in need of homes, reaches out to the community, and works with other local organizations to find those in need.  Once at Island Haven these souls will have all the best possible care and a place to live out the rest of their lives.

Outreach and education

From school children to senior citizens, our education and outreach programs will have something for everyone.  We expect to begin this program in the spring of 2016.

Advocacy

Because they can't speak for themselves...  We'll be out there raising awareness for animal rights and human responsibilities.

Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.
